M3 Design ™ is a Solid State Laser Design philosophy meant to achieve the ideal matching between laser output mode and its application ( Marking Matched Mode ).
Traditional material processing lasers are designed for multimode (M2 > 10) or TEM00 (M2 < 1.3) operation, independently of the real marking application requirements.
TEM00 lasers are often considered the most effective in marking due to small focal spot and very high power density in the focus, but their marking times are long because of the very thin lines, and their industrial realization is considered critical and costly.
On the opposite multimode lasers are cheaper but they exhibit low power density in the focal spot and they are very slow when a deep engraving is needed.
M3 Design ™ technique allows optimal laser resonator design for marking applications; it grants optimised execution time versus M2 beam quality parameter of the laser source. |
